The ta'Qa'Hom Fighter, first commissioned in 2263, this small fighter was widely distrubuted through out the Empire, and quickly became popular with Klingon Commanders.
Due its mass produced, cheap modular construction and popular Klingon production methods within the empire, mean even heavily damaged craft of this class can be salavaged and rebuilt in a matter of days.
Vor'Cha's normaly carry a compliment of up to 27 ta'Qa'Hom Class Fighters while the Negh'Var can carry up to 59.
While the average K'Ting'a only carries about 7 with extra space saved for spare parts.
In 2381 when Federation levels of cost effective production were introduced in the empire, the ta'Qa'Hom Design was not only improved in all areas but gave the ship a much higher warp speed and duration times, allowed the empire to begin stationing whole squads of the class on less important tasks, like Convey Escorts.
Since then, Pirate raids have decreased by 3%
